I had the car today for the first time in a week, so I put on my favorite skirt, my favorite black turtleneck, and I drove all the way to Hampton for this stuff [Santa Cruiz Organic Sparkling drinks] today. I bought almost every flavor that Medik’s Market had in their cold case.
This is the Cherry flavor. It was alright.
Here’s the “white side” of the can:

Not enough Cherry Sodas are produced in cans. The only cherry sodas (No, I’m not talking about Wild Cherry Pepsi and Cherry Coke). I see around here in Hampton Roads, VA is Stewarts and Dr. Browns Black Cherry and store brand Black Cherry. And only Dr. Browns and the store brands come in cans.
Oh yeah, and Fanta makes a black cherry but its only sold in five states or somethig.
I got some Cherikee Red off of sodafinder.com a few weeks ago, and this is so good, I wish they sold it everywhere! I don’t know where it came from though, the production code was rubbed off.

I bought a (now rare) can of Dr. Slice from sodafinder.com, and you know….I didn’t like it. The only soda I got that I didn’t like.Dr. Slice was made by Pepsi in areas where Coke bottled Dr. Pepper. (since Pepsi bottles Dr. Pepper, we never got Dr. Slice Hampton Roads) But in 2005, all the Slice flavors were killed off by Pepsi for the Tropicana Twister line. I heard that most places that used to get Dr. Slice now gets Cheerwine.
Here’s the top to the can, I’ve never seen a top like this, I forgot to get the production code off the can before throwing it away:

Thanks to sodafinder.com I was able to finally try Fanta Apple! It had expried back in January but it was still good. Apparently you can only find Fanta Apple in Texas and Atlanta. This was produced in Houston.
I guess I could get the same effect from drinking sparkling apple cider, but it wouldn’t come in the cool can. I don’t understand why Coca-Cola doesn’t roll this out nationally. I think people would buy it! It’s not like Fanta Grape is flying off the shelves or something.
When Citra died in 2002-ish (maybe even 2001?) it became Fanta Citrus in some areas. I had this Friday night while making a tape for a friend (a tape of old commercials and stuff) and this stuff tastes better than Citra ever did (and keep in mind, this can had expired back in January). Coke calls it a “grapefruit flavored soda”, and I’ll agree to that, its like Fresca but with sugar.
The only downside to this soda is when I drink clear sodas, [TMI] my mouth gets all mucus-y and for a few minutes I have a hard time swallowing[/TMI].
This was canned in College Park, GA, and I bought it off of sodafinder.com.
Fanta Citrus gets extra props for having the prettiest fanta can.

I was watching an old MTV 120 Minutes music video tape Melissa sent me while drinking some 7up Citrus Splash.
Sadly, the drink had expired, so the grapefruit flavors wern’t fully there. But it was still good. You knew what flavors you were drinking.
I don’t think this stuff is being made anymore, sadly?
Here’s the “French side” of the can:

Two things I found at Food Lion last Sunday:

Why does every energy drink taste the same? I will say its the only diet drink out there that tastes the same as its regular counterpart.
The Diet can for this stuff reminds me of a 1970’s beer can.

It seems that Pibb Xtra, Fanta, and Barq’s is always discounted. When you go to the convenience store the 20 oz bottles of these are marked down to $.99, and now on fridgepacks there are clip out coupons.

Got this from Brian at sodafinder two weeks ago and finally tried it today. It smells like the original Mr. Pibb, and it tastes like Pibb Xtra when it first hits your tounge, but once it hits the back of your tounge, all bets off. It’s a harsh diet soda.
Coke bottler code LX = Lenexa KS

Oh kids, this will probably be one of the last times I have Pepsi Twist (in fact I took this pic like last month!) For some inexplicable reason, the Wal Mart in my town still sells it, but nobody else does in town. I still like it from time to time. I loved it when it first came out in 2001 though.
Maybe it will be like Pepsi Light and live on in certain towns for years and years after its been gone from mainstream markets. I think Pepsi Light lasted in some cities into the 1990’s when it had been abandoned by most of the US in the early 1980’s.
